Information about Anthony
I`m an experienced Primary School teacher with a wealth of expertise and access to numerous resources. I offer a bespoke program, suited to the needs of your child. I can tutor any subject to a primary level, and have extensive experience in the teaching of literacy: reading and writing. I am a warm and approachable teacher who is able to build good, strong relationships with children in a way that can inspire and motivate them to succeed. I have had a lot of success at preparing children for their SATs up to Key Stage 3.
I am very fluent with the demands of the new curriculum and I am have a proven track record of helping children to meet the newly raised expectations.
I have taught in Year 4 for the last few years, but I`m also experienced at working with children all ages, including early years. Prior to teaching, I worked for Beanstalk, where I provided one to one mentoring to children in a bid to promote a love of reading. I have also worked for other organisations, such as Special Needs Under Fives Support, so my experience is not limited to teaching.
Additionally, I have two children of my own, who provide me with opportunities to see child development from a non-teacher point of view, and I still volunteer in other schools throughout the authority and offer my advice to a wide range of parents with children who have additional educational needs..
Although I don`t teach at degree level, I have tutored in English for many years, including primary, secondary, college and degree level. The last two students that I worked with throughout their second and third years of university, both graduated with a First Class Honours Degree as a result of their hard work and my help with their essay writing skills.
I am also an experience SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and can also offer advice and support, as a consultant, to parents with children who have or are suspected to have additional needs, e.g. dyslexia, ASD etc. I am very well equipped to navigate the complexities of the Early Help procedures in and around Bolton, and I am also available on a consultancy basis if required.
I have been graded as Outstanding on a consistent basis since the start of my career. I have a first class honours degree in English, and I obtained a first grade in both my PGCE and SENCo Award.
My prices are not fixed, and I am open to negotiate depending on what service/support that you require me to provide. I am happy to travel outside of my local area, but if it`s more than an hours drive then I would possibly have to charge for travel time.
Please do not hesitate to contact me and I look forward to working with you/or your children soon.
Availability: I`m available every Monday and Wednesday after 6pm. I`m also available Thursdays from 4pm and Sundays from 3pm every week. I can do other days but due to childcare it would be alternate weeks.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I have worked in education for almost a decade and have supported students from reception age to degree level.
