Information about Humza
Hi there,i am a qualified dentist working at Kings College Hospital London,I graduated in june 2015 from queen marys university of london. I have experience of teaching students for 8+ years, since I finished college. I am very experienced at teaching A levels Biology as well as GCSE and key stage sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics). I teach all оf the different specificаtiоns including OCR, Edexcel аnd AQA and IGCSE. Since i have just gone through the university experience, i can also offer invaluable advice in applying to ucas, personal statements, work experience and interview prep for university applications. I have helped many students secure places at top Russell Group universities especially for medicine, pharmacy and dentistry.
I tailor the lessons in order to suit the individual needs of each of my students. Usually I will spend the first number of tuition going over the curriculum to improve understanding and depth of knowledge. Then focusing on answering exam questions and exam technique in order to score maximum marks. Usually in the last few minutes of the tuition, I give a quick summary of what was taught in that lesson since repetition further instills the concepts. I like to manage my classes in a relaxed atmosphere, which promotes a good learning experience. My lessons are interactive and contain various activities promoting discussion, sharing of ideas and reflection students are encouraged to look at problems and solutions. I find that a student centered approach encourages students to identify and accept the need to learn, through positive motivation.
I believe every young person should have the opportunity to make the very best of him or herself, regardless of background, ethnicity or religion. They should have help and support in education, for each student is an individual with their own needs and style of learning and therefore lessons should incorporate this in the planning. I believe that lessons should commence with finding out what the students already know about the topic and build on what they do not know. This, in turn, will give them the desire to learn more. They should be encouraged and taught, not only the subject matter, but also how to study. A student left to their own devices, without any guidance, can quickly become unmotivated when set challenges that they are uncertain of how to tackle them.
Look forward to hearing from you!
