Was this summer`s grade disappointing? Looking to retake in November before the maths GCSE system changes? Sessions are available during the October half-term. Bookings now bring taken - limited spaces.
Offering tutoring service for Maths and English since 2008 with huge success. It is important that learners achieve their full potential through gentle coaxing and lots of encouragement. Learning needs to be fun especially if tutoring is required for a subject the learner does not like and struggles with. I have had huge success with GCSE grades, Common Entrance exam preparation and increasing the sub-levels over a short period of time. I have many years experience of teaching in the education sector but now just tutoring as I find this the most rewarding job ever.

Short tutoring sessions available in the holidays for GCSE exam preparation. Running for small groups of 4 learner sat a time, 3 hour session in specific areas, for example: algebra, trigonometry, statistics, etc. if your child is struggling in a specific area we will provide the support needed. Please contact me for further details. Courses are running for both foundation and higher levels.

Having exchanged emails with Amanda, we decided to buy her details as she sounded like the perfect match for our child and she agreed so. We invited her to our home so we could meet her and came across as exactly what we needed. we made all the arrangements for her to tutor our child come January. We both put the dates in the diary and everything was put in place. I recently messaged her as we hadn`t spoken in a while. I mentioned that we were a little worried that things might fall through and was everything still ok got her to begin. She replied that it was, but could we change the timings to be afternoons as she wanted to see her apprentices in the morning. Firstly there was no mention of any apprentices when she booked us in, only that she teaches 1 girl. Secondly, when I told her that we had already booked other tutors for the afternoons she then responded saying that she was no longer going to tutor our child because she now has to take her friend to hospital appointments. There was no mention of any of this at any point, but had known about for this for a while so why didn`t she mention it before, or the first time she messaged me. I love the idea of Tutor Hunt, but once you`ve spent the money to buy a tutors details, you have no idea whether you`re wasting your money or not. Her details also `still` state that she charges £26 per hour for KS3 but when we made contact she said, no its actually £30. She offered to drop it to £27 because we are looking for a long term arrangement, but still it`s not right to advertise one price and then charge another. I will add that she is still advertising £26!
I would also like to add that at no point did she apologise for letting us down at the last minute. Hopefully she will do the right thing and update her details to say she is no longer available.. unless of course she`s been spinning a web! Not impressed at all!!

Mandy has been a great help to my daughter with GCSE level Maths. She is easy to understand and encouraging and we are lucky we found her!
