I am a friendly, encouraging and enthusiastic English teacher with over 10 years` experience working with children and young adults. I am able to tutor English Language and Literature at KS3, GCSE, A-Level and undergraduate level and have extensive experience of working with students with SEND and English as an additional/ foreign language.

My belief that every student can achieve academic success underpins my approach to teaching and the key to a good tutoring relationship is understanding you/ your child`s needs; I am inquisitive, patient and highly adaptable to every student.

Availability: Mainly online tuition but open to discussions. I am fairly flexible so please do discuss your needs with me!

Experience: I hold a 1st class degree in English Literature and a Masters with Distinction in Nineteenth-Century Studies from the University of Sheffield, where I graduated top of my class. My passion for learning has become a crucial component of my teaching and resulted in me being graded `Outstanding` in every category when I qualified as an English teacher. Since then, I have a proven record of securing success for my pupils, particularly at GCSE level where I have helped students to make outstanding progress and achieve grade 9s.

I have taught AQA GCSE English Literature and English Language, Edexcel GCSE English Literature and Cambridge iGCSE English Literature, in addition to tutoring A-Level students. I also have experience of teaching English as a foreign language and working with children with a range of special educational needs and English as an additional language. Whatever your individual needs, I am confident I can support you.

As a teacher working during the pandemic, I developed innovative and interactive methods to replicate in-person teaching and I find that online teaching can be just as beneficial as in-person; this is my preferred method of tutoring but I am open to discussing all options!
