I`m an encouraging and enthusiastic English teacher and SEND expert with over 10 years` experience in education. Having now left teaching, I am keen to offer my support to more students, to inspire their love of learning, reading and writing.

My belief that every person can achieve academic success underpins my approach to teaching. The key to a good tutoring relationship is understanding your child`s needs. I am inquisitive, patient and highly adaptable to every student and have extensive experience of supporting children with SEND, especially ASD and ADHD, to regain their confidence and make outstanding progress in English.

I particularly enjoy tutoring GCSE English Literature and English Language but am also able to tutor English at KS2, KS3, A-Level and undergraduate level.

Availability: I am generally available in the afternoon or evening.

- I hold a 1st class degree in English Literature and a Masters with Distinction in Nineteenth-Century Studies from the University of Sheffield, where I graduated top of my class. I also gained full marks in several of my A-Level exams.
- I was graded `Outstanding` in every category when I qualified as an English teacher.
- I hold a PGDE in Leadership in Education and specialised in using cognitive science to develop strategies for learning and memory, particularly for children with SEND.
- I have a proven record of securing success for my pupils, including at GCSE level where I have helped students to make outstanding progress and achieve grade 9s.
- I am an exam marker for AQA, have marked English Literature GCSE for 3 years and have also been trained in English Language marking.
- I have taught AQA GCSE English Literature and English Language, Edexcel GCSE English Literature and Cambridge iGCSE English Literature, in addition to tutoring A-Level students.
- I have experience of teaching English as a foreign language and working with children with a range of special educational needs and English as an additional language.
