Information about Ria

As a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant currently working in a primary school, I bring valuable hands-on experience delivering phonics, English, and maths support to pupils of all abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). I’ve taught across Reception to KS2, supporting early readers, leading phonics groups, and running targeted numeracy interventions. I have also tutored online in GCSE English, History, and Maths, tailoring content to suit different learning styles and needs.

My teaching approach is patient, structured, and inclusive, ensuring that every child feels safe, valued, and able to make progress at their own pace. I strongly believe in promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within education and have experience supporting children with a range of learning and communication needs, including non-verbal pupils, autism, ADHD, and SEMH challenges.

I use positive reinforcement and a calm, supportive manner to help students build confidence and develop independence in their learning. My lessons are personalised and interactive, using clear explanations and varied tasks to keep students engaged and motivated.

I hold 10 GCSEs, including English and Maths, and A-levels in English, Sociology, and History, and I’m passionate about helping students unlock their potential through accessible and enjoyable learning experiences.

Whether your child needs help with early literacy or support preparing for exams, I’m committed to providing high-quality tutoring that encourages growth and achievement.

Experience: As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, I’ve gained extensive experience supporting pupils across Reception to Key Stage 2 in both mainstream and specialist educational settings. I deliver targeted phonics, reading, and maths interventions, working closely with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, including children with SEN, such as autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties. I regularly conduct phonics and reading assessments, contribute to planning learning activities, and provide tailored support to help students make measurable progress. I’m confident using schemes like Read Write Inc. and have assisted with core subjects including English, maths, and science.

In addition to my school-based experience, I’ve worked as an online tutor for over a year with S&K Tutors Limited, delivering structured lessons in GCSE English, History, and Maths. I design lessons to meet individual student needs, aligning with curriculum standards while maintaining an engaging and supportive learning environment. My sessions are interactive, personalised, and focused on improving subject understanding, exam technique, and student confidence.

I take a calm, patient, and inclusive approach to teaching, with a strong belief in adapting methods to suit different learning styles. My goal is always to help learners feel confident, supported, and equipped to achieve their full academic potential.
