Information about David
Hi - I have 18 years` experience teaching Music and Music Technology in schools in the UK and abroad. An Oxford Music graduate, I specialise in teaching GCSE and A Level Music, A Level Music Technology, and Theory of Music (especially for the ABRSM Theory exams). I`m passionate about helping students to achieve the very best they can and have considerable success with helping students get excellent grades at GCSE, A Level, and university entrance (especially Oxbridge).
I also have lots of experience as an examiner: I`m currently an A Level Music examiner for Edexcel, a grade & diploma examiner for ABRSM, previously an A Level Music Technology examiner with Edexcel.
I`m equally at home teaching at your house, mine, or online.
Availability: Weekday evenings, possibly Saturdays.

Experience: 18 years in Independent schools in the UK, Malaysia and India, including in Director of Music and Assistant Head roles. I also have lots of examining experience in Music and Music Technology up to A Level.

David tutored my son during his A levels in Music and Music Technology. I chose David because of his ability to tutor in both subjects, his knowledge and experience of working with the exam boards, but also because he was confident about helping my son who as a drummer found aspects of the Music A level quite challenging. David understood the challenges very well and gave us confidence about what was achievable, he was really good with my son. He provided really helpful materials. David is very calm and experienced at tutoring. The sessions were really helpful and it was very reassuring to me as a parent to have David onboard.

David was a real support to my son in preparing for his a-level music exam across this final year of study. He brought energy and focus to each session and was also really respectful of the content and guidance coming from college - building on the approach to learning there and filling the gaps where needed.
