I am British/American, happily married with a 13 year old son. I have many interests which include painting, mountain biking, surfing and going to the cinema with the family. Travelling and seeing the world is also something we enjoy and have just returned from a 2 year stay in California.

Two other members of the family are Digby (Golden Retriever) and our newest addition Reggie (French bulldog puppy).

As a classroom teacher I was very enthusiastic and rarely sat down. Having said this, my teaching style was very relaxed (usually :) ). As in most things, developing confidence is key. When you are working through a topic, particularly in maths, each lesson builds on the previous one. If you missed a lesson or a concept early on you risk misunderstanding the whole topic. If students have a solid grasp of the basic concepts their confidence grows they start getting better test results and motivation increases. That is my goal as a tutor and I would love to help you along that path.

Experience: I have 11 years teaching experience. This was gained mainly in London schools where I taught Math and Science to GCSE and Physics to A level. I would say my teaching style was enthusiastic yet relaxed and this is the same approach I take in a one on one situation.

Besides teaching I also worked as a computer programmer for many years.

I have a BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cardiff University and a Post Graduate Certificate of Education from Norwich University.
