I`m a teacher, published writer and a writing coach.

I have lots of experience teaching children and adults to enjoy reading and to write creatively. I like to make learning a fun and positive experience.

I have an interest in history and a sound knowledge of the UK Schools Curriculum.

Availability: Monday to Wednesday evenings - out of school hours. Som daytime hours

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I have 2 English degrees and am a qualified teacher (PGCE) with 25 years experience teaching in schools (the 10 subjects of the primary curriculum) and tutoring learners at home (from the age of 7 to 16/GCSE). I`ve also led writing activities for children in schools and for adults in community settings.

I have experience of teaching the new grammar curriculum to pupils in Years 5 and 6 in local primary schools. I recently gave a talk at a national writers` conference on how to teach grammar to children by using creative writing exercises.

I specialise in teaching children and young people who speak a language other than English at home.

I`m a qualified as a writing coach.
