I am George and I am an experienced maths tutor with a BSc in Mathematics. My approach is tailored to each student’s learning style, ensuring that our sessions are engaging, productive and effective.

I believe that true understanding goes beyond memorization, so I focus on explaining the concepts and braking them down into simpler and more digestible ideas - making sure that my students understand them, instead of just learning them. I have witnessed firsthand how my students’ performance and confidence improves when they truly understand why they are doing something, instead of just following rules. When they grasp the reasoning behind mathematical concepts, they become more independent and confident, which in turn improves their problem - solving skills. This shift also helps them tackle more complex questions.

Communication and active participation are at the heart of my teaching style. For that reason, I always encourage my students to ask questions, no matter how simple or easy they may seem. By fostering a comfortable and open learning environment, I help them overcome any anxiety they may have. I understand their struggles and I’m here to help them.

With many years of tutoring experience, I have worked with students of different ages and backgrounds, including adults returning to education.
