Information about Gerald
I was a Teacher of Design Technology at a Grammar School for 14 years: a teacher for 23 years. I have taught Food Technology, Product Design, Graphics and Art. I have good ICT skills and love making models and using wood and other materials. I have good English skills and I am interested in young people being prepared so that they can be successful in their lives. There is always an element of life coaching when tutoring. This is an important part of all teaching. Young people need to believe in themselves to make real progress.
Availability: Most days and evenings at present.

Experience: Taught in schools for 23 years. In my first job I worked with many SEN children and have mentored young people throughout my career. I am trained as a Design Teacher and enjoy using materials including food, wood, plastics, card and paper. My English skills are good and I am a patient and supportive mentor.

Gerald has been helping daughter with some of the theory parts of the GCSE Design and Technology course that don`t get fully covered in school. She`s really enjoyed the lessons and has learnt a lot, giving her a lot more confidence going in to the exams.
