I am a Grade 1 Accounts lecturer with approximately 23` years experience delivering all the Units on all three levels (2, 3, & 4) of the Association of Accounting Technician (AAT) Courses. I have an honours degree in Finance with Accounting and, I hold a teaching qualification (PGCE). I once received an award for excellence in teaching, and my contribution to teaching programmes has helped to significantly improve teaching standards, in a particular Further Education College. My teaching style embraces the different needs and mix of Adult learners that come into Further Education. During my teaching, I always create a friendly, warm, inviting, exciting and also very disciplined and professional atmosphere. Learners are constantly challenged/stretched and, regularly given clear, honest and constructive feedback on their performance and improvement targets. Learners are given clear and precise learning objectives of what is expected from them and rigorously prepared for their Computer Based examinations. This has often helped to boost learner achievement, and progression rates, as well as the credibility of the AAT. This is evident in learners’ testimonials, which can be made available if necessary. My high quality teaching and learning standard is also reflected in my excellent classroom observation grades from both internal and external inspectors – one of my lessons was cited in an Inspection Report as an example of “better teaching”. For my delivery, I embrace innovative/modern teaching and learning practices. I am aware of the complex range of problems faced by learners and, I embrace every aspect of it by my empathetic and very professional style. My teaching style and delivery focuses on the different learning needs of each and every student not withstanding their race, gender, ability, background or disposition.

Availability: I am currently available on all day Monday and most evenings, except Tuesday evenings. I can also be available on a Saturday morning, if necessary.

Experience: Prior to coming into the teaching profession, I have had many years’ experience working within the private, business sector. During my work history, I have held line-management responsibility for both accounts and administrative personnel and, I have implemented modern management techniques to ensure adherence to overall corporate goals for all concerned. All my experiences have shown that I have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to get on with a wide range of people. This has helped me to sustain effective working relationships with learners and, colleagues. I have experience of working with young people with special educational needs. My teaching experience has afforded me a thorough insight into the needs of existing and potential customers and the best learning policies and procedures required to achieve excellence.
