Information about Katya
I have a PhD in vaccine development from Imperial College London and have also completed an MSc in Immunology and a BSc (Hons) in Infectious Diseases. I am currently studying graduate entry medicine at Imperial after also working there as a post-doctoral scientist.
Availability: After 5:30 on most weekdays, after 12:00pm on Wednesdays.
Anytime on the weekend.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: While doing my PhD I became very involved with teaching as I like to pass on my enthusiasm for studying to children of all ages. I have a wide range of experience- from primary school english tuition to university level dissertation advice.
I specialise in tutoring primary years with emphasis on preparation for the 7+, 8+ and 11+ and also have over 200+ hours experience in tutoring Biology for different levels and exam boards.
I am very approachable and patient and would tailor my teaching style to suit each student. As I have an international background (growing up in the UK, Germany and Russia) I am able to get along with a wide range of students.
I believe that every student has the potential to flourish in their classes and this can result in long term academic success if encouraged to explore and be curious about the topics they are studying.
As I`ve been through the medical application process recently I can help with personal statements, interview prep and general advice about the application process for both graduates and undergraduates. I can also help with MSc and PhD applications.
I speak fluent Russian.
