I have tutored and taught English at primary, secondary and tertiary (Key Stages 2 - 5) and Law at GCSE and A Level and under graduates reading Business Law with great success.

As well as classroom teaching and private home tuition, I work in national and international schools planning and delivering specialist teacher training intervention sessions.

If you would like your child to benefit from similar, personalised booster sessions to help them achieve, just ask. I do on line Skype sessions and share my screen .

Additionally, I can provide regular assessments in line with the current curriculum to identify strengths and weaknesses that can be worked through with my specialist experience.

For adults looking to take GCSE or A Level English or Law, I can help support your learning in a way that suits your individual needs as a mature learner, working at a pace that you are comfortable with.

I also have over 20 years experience teaching ESOL and EFL courses and currently work with small adult groups, studying functional skills and IELTS. If you are a mature learner, who would like to increase your knowledge of English Language skills, from basic functional skills to pass the Life in the UK test, up to GCSE and beyond, feel free to get in touch.

Tuition is available for all ages and abilities, from primary school children to mature, adult learners and is perfect for beginner and intermediate level English Language courses, SATs, GCSEs and A Levels.

Availability: I have a flexible schedule to meet all students needs. Currently I have some morning and afternoon and evening sessions available.

Experience: I am a qualified English and Law teacher based in West Bridgford, Nottingham. I gained an Honours degree in Law from Nottingham Trent University and a PGDL and Masters in Law from De Montfort University, Leicester.

In secondary schools I have developed my skills as an intervention specialist, working with C/D borderline groups in English and Law at GCSE and A Level, helping them achieve their desired C grades and above.

As a school teacher I have worked in the UK and as an education consultant in north Italy with SEN departments and have experience as a SENCO, working closely with students with Special Educational Needs including Dyslexia and ASD. She is a very good teacher. In such a short span of time I feel that I improved a lot. Three months back I came from India and I started my tuition sessions with her for my GCSE English. She explains everything very well and always respond positively. I still remember I got late for my lesson despite of that she extended the session for me and also dropped me to my home.

I could not recommend Pritpal highly enough. She brought my son from a level 3 to 6 in a few English Lessons.
She is very easy going and my son found her really good to work with. She is passionate about English and this comes across when she is teaching.
She gave my son the confidence he needed to get his GCSE in English Language and Literature. 5 Star tutor.

Tutors Response :

Thanks very much for your lovely message Heather. It has been a pleasure to put a smile on Will’s face. It felt very rewarding to watch him, speedily write up quality creative paragraphs. Best wishes Pritpal

My daughter has just started having sessions with Pritpal at the start of Year 10, and already we are seeing that she has a better understanding of how to approach her coursework. She is dyslexic so English has always been a subject she has struggled with, and to see an improvement so soon is very encouraging.

Tutors Response :

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
To see a student with a smiling face after the plenary is so satisfying. I’m enjoying working with your daughter.

The initial assessment plan went into detail and covered strengths and weaknesses, the materials used were very relevant to my key weakness areas. I was taught the skills I longed for in structuring an answer and the bonus of having a law and English tutor helped me with my grammar and spelling too.

Tutors Response :

Thank you for your feedback Maria, you have been a pleasure to support with your legal studies and I`m so glad the sessions have been useful to you.

We have had Mrs Pritpal for a couple of times, we all love her already, she is hard working, very professional and knowledgeable, we are planning to keep her all the way to A levels

Tracy (Mrs)

Pritpal is obviously very experienced and this comes through in her teaching. My son has already learnt a lot in the short space of time she has been tutoring him. Pritpal will be a huge asset to my son in the lead up to his GCSEs and I would very happily recommend her to others.

Tutors Response :

Thank you for sharing your experience Tracy. It’s great to see such enthusiasm from your son. Great to see the progress so quickly.

Fantastic knowledge of subject, and supported well during sessions. However very disappointed that she was unwilling to refund advanced payment of £80 due to the learner being ill.

Tutors Response :

Dear Joe, thank you for your comments.

However as previously discussed, since the final two sessions were both cancelled on the day, after I had already prepared and attended the sessions, I felt it was unfair to refund the money as I had fulfilled my contract. I apologise if this wasn`t clear, however as with all my clients, if a cancellation is made within less than 24 hours the sessional fee is forfeited or the session is rearranged subject to availability. It was unfortunate that we were unable to rearrange another session due to the proximity of the exam, however to compensate and as a gesture of goodwill, I sent over the prepared exam resources and additional tips and support for Scott.

I hope you understand and I wish Scott all the success for the future.

Best wishes,

When our son started his GCSE year, he was finding English hard and he lacked confidence. We therefore decided to find him a tutor to help. Pritpal quickly built an excellent rapport with our son and we have seen an improvement in his confidence in only a few weeks. His teachers have also noticed this. I would highly recommend Pritpal.

Tutors Response :

Thank you for the feedback Paul. I`m really glad Ryan and his teachers have noticed just how a one to one session, can make a huge amount of difference in a short time.

We originally called Polly in to help early in the year after a worrying mock result. It is now May, and GCSEs are imminent... and in the intervening time the difference Polly has helped our boy bring about is significant. Though having (I always felt) the raw ability to do well, his confidence was rock bottom and I would say he felt helpless, due to a series of negative experiences at school throughout the years. In the last few weeks however, Polly has helped him now get to grips with analysis of literature, drawing and describing inferences, and even poetry, and generally helped him believe he CAN do at least OK, and possibly even well. She has notably also helped him with more general learning approaches applicable to any subject, with strategies on revision aids, with confidence, with attitude etc. So as we approach the big event, we feel he is now at a place not necessarily of LIKING the subject (that would be a step too far at this stage!), but at least believing there is hope and a decent chance of a reasonable outcome. So at this stage, I would say this is as pleasing as we could have asked for.

Tutors Response :

Thank- you for your feedback Dave. It`s great to know the sessions have helped.

We`ve had a really positive experience with Polly (as she likes to be referred to) so far. She is very organised and reliable, and our boy is showing notable steps forward in ability, confidence and attitude after only a small number of sessions. So we`re very happy so far.

Tutors Response :

I feel delighted with the work achieved.

Hi Polly

I am glad that I started tuition for my 4 years old son Sami and 2 year old daughter Hawah.

Sami has made fantastic progress he can comfortably recognize letters of his name if he sees them in everyday signs and says "S" is the first letter of my name, and he also can read most of the jolly phonics alaphabet.

Sami writing skills have also improved he can now hold a pencil properly and really wants to try hard in writing his name.

Hawah has a half an hour session with Polly and is really coming along she enjoys painting and can also recognize "H" is in her name, she comfortably counts to 10. While on holiday in Turkey hawah saw the letter "T" and acted out the jolly phonics sound for "t" using her hands Which was very good for a 2 year old to remember.

Polly is a fantastic tutor who has a lot of patience with my children.
