As a medical student at King’s College and a former A-Level Student, I have enjoyed learning about Maths and Sciences, however, I thoroughly enjoy teaching it more.

I plan on assisting my students by breaking down individual topics, and building their education from the ground up. I strongly believe in building strong foundations which allow us to continue to harder content. Once my students are able to build up their knowledge, I will push towards trickier questions. For students in exam years, getting closer to exam-styled questions is ideal, and sometimes pushing students towards challenging questions can really build their confidence when approaching examinations. During my lessons, I plan on running a quick starter to refresh them on prior knowledge required for the upcoming lesson. After that, I would dive into content and demonstrate with examples on how to tackle simple questions, and would request that they get this down. Following this, I would push towards more challenging exam-style questions and make sure that my students are able to tackle them, and provide help whenever needed. A plenary and homework is definitely helpful for consolidation.

I have knowledge of the OCR A Level and GCSE Science curriculum as I have sat these exams myself. I am also familiar with Edexcel for A Level and GCSE Maths. Whilst tutoring I have managed students from different exam boards such as AQA, as there are many overlapping parts and the specification provides guidance on what you need to know.

I have had over 2 years of tutoring experience including personal one-to-one tutoring as well as managing multiple students at once in person. Furthermore, for online lessons I am equipped with an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil that will allow me to visibly demonstrate everything I need to students very clearly.
