I have been working as a Special Needs Educational Assistant for the last twelve years at a Resourced Unit of a local High School. In that time I have worked with individual students, planning Programmes of Study, supporting students in lessons, I have created resources for differentiated work, and developed and delivered lessons in English and Maths, as well as creating lessons for other areas of the curriculum. I have also developed and lead learning activities for the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Our department has twice achieved Outstanding from Ofsted Inspections.
I have also lead and developed workshops in Horticulture for Adults in the Tertiary sector, and continue to use my horticultural skills and knowledge at school and privately.
I have tutored many primary age children in both English and Maths and have been valued for my broad knowledge, my patience, my fun and innovative approach to learning and to my ability to instil my pupils with confidence and the love of learning.

Tutoring English to primary students.

The Kingsway School: Since 2009 employed in the school`s resource department as an RSIA. Responsible for assisting in mainstream lessons and also differentiating lessons. Preparing and delivering lessons in English, life skills and facilitating Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
I now have extensive experience working with students with various complex needs, particularly Autism. This is work I love and have a proven ability to perform well with empathy and humour.
