I began tutoring on the side during my PhD and over time created my own material (over 100 slides) and method for tutoring.

I myself had tutors helping me through my studies and although the tutors were very helpful in explaining concepts for the exam boards, many of them lacked in-depth knowledge and key details relating to the syllabus. So when I began tutoring, my approach was to know the syllabus inside and out, to make sure my students are confident going into their exams. And obtaining good comprehension and grades is a good starting place for going on to do A Levels.

My students typically take Biology as a single science or supplement the Biology topics within Combined Science.

Growing up I’ve always been passionate and interested in science, my aim was to eventually become a scientist when I was older and here I am. Science is often seen as boring or difficult, but many people (myself included) managed to enjoy learning and acing science.

I went on do A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, and Geography. Having loved biology and chemistry in equal parts I decided on doing a degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry (MSci). I found my degree to be a very enjoyable, worthwhile endeavor so I decided to carry on with my studies with a PhD in Electrochemistry during my time at Surrey University.
