Information about Nicola
Hi there, I am a hopefully considered a kind and understanding Maths and Statistics teacher. I have put two children through school and one at university.
I have completed a 70.3 Ironman so I know how to persevere when the going gets hard which is what a lot of students need to do when they struggle with mathematics. Hopefully I can make the experience a little bit more enjoyable and they can regain their joy or the subject or perhaps some pride in themselves. It all goes a long way to help a student succeed.
Availability: I am available for work most days and evenings during the week and occasionally at weekends :-).
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have worked in a few of the sixth from colleges in Sussex.
I have also worked as a tutor throughout this time helping GCSE students either retakers or year round help as well as teaching the more able students with A level mathematics and the new A level statistics course with Pearson Edexcel.
I have been an exam marker for AQA both GCSE and A level and since my college changed to Edexcel I am now an examiner for Edexcel GCSE Maths, A level Maths and A level Statistics. Being an examiner provides you with extra insight as to how the exams are marked and what is required to achieve these marks. Every school and college and student is always in need of this extra insight.
Tutoring Approach
I have experience in one to one tutoring for several years with great feedback and excellent success rate.
Teaching for exam boards Edexcel & AQA although I am sure I can manage to work out other boards as the subject is the same :-)
KS4 - GCSE Mathematics
KS5 - A Level New syllabus Mathematics (Core and applied subjects (statistics and mechanics), A level Statistics
I can provide one to one or group online sessions in these topics.

Finding Nikki was one of the best things that happened to us during our daughter’s school years. She is not just a fantastic maths tutor — she’s been a true partner, guide, and support every step of the way. From the very first lesson, there was an amazing connection between Nikki and our daughter. In just a couple of months, Nikki helped her improve by two whole grade levels, and we knew we had found someone truly special. That’s why we continued working with her for the next two years — and what a wonderful journey it’s been! Nikki is kind, professional, and incredibly skilled at explaining complex things in a way that makes them simple and clear. She’s also amazingly flexible — whether we were in a different country, time zone, or even mid-travel, Nikki always made it work. She was there for us — day or night — with patience and positivity. Now that our daughter has completed her GCSE exams, our lessons with Nikki have come to an end, and it honestly feels like saying goodbye to a member of the family. We will miss her greatly, and we recommend her with all our hearts to anyone looking for not just a tutor, but someone who truly cares and makes a difference.

Oh my gosh, Nicki, was amazing for my dyslexic autistic daughter. She explained everything very clearly, increased her confidence in maths and her self confidence. My daughter looked forward to her maths lessons for the first time ever, she has retaken her gcse maths 4 times this will be the last retake and i regret not having niki as a tutor before now. In my daughters own words ‘things just make so much sense now’ The only downside to having niki as a tutor is the gaping hole left after my daughter no longer needs her support. Niki you are an incredible friendly patient knowledgeable passionate teacher and we are so incredibly grateful for all the support you have provided. You have not only supported her maths but increased her self worth thank you from the bottom of our hearts
