"Helped clearly and concisely with both Biology and Chemistry, and I recommend him to any and all students." A previous student.
If you would like to know what my track record is like, you only need to look at my feedback. I have helped two students achieve their goals of going to university, in addition to helping students progress confidently from GCSE to A-Level where they go on to flourish.
I have completed my BSc in Biochemistry at Kings College London (Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine), and I am now undertaking a postgraduate degree in Genomic Medicine at Queen Mary University of London.
For my A-Levels I attained the following grades:
Maths A
Biology A
Chemistry A
For all the worried parents out there, let me assure you that your child can get the scores they need in order to succeed academically. They can flourish and grow in knowledge, which will give them the ability to gain access to the top universities in the UK.
I know what it is like to overcome hurdles academically, because I had to overcome hurdles to get to where I am today. From my own experiences I am proof that every child has the capacity to learn, grow, and succeed. I hope to share my experiences of learning with your child so they too can achieve their full potential.
About Me
I am an adaptive learner with the ability to work flexibly and focus intently for large periods of time. I have learned to efficiently organise my time, and I am always punctual no matter the event. I have had access to several great tutors in the past, and I learned from them not only subject knowledge but also the importance of teaching styles and encouragement as tools for learning.
I love the sciences and mathematics, and I want to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for these subjects with your child. One of the greatest barriers to a childs learning is whether the tutor can make the subject engaging. We all remember those lessons where the teacher lost us completely this can be destructive to the learning process. I can ensure that your childs lessons remain exciting and engaging; if they enjoy the subject, they will thrive at it.
I am experienced in tutoring, having completed over 600 hours on TutorHunt, as well as more than 100 hours of in-person tutoring at a centre in London and one-to-one. I have tutored both young children and young adults across a wide range of abilities, helping them grow as students. My main subjects are Maths, English, and the Sciences up to and including A-Level.
Furthermore, I have tutored both adults and children in music. I have taught the Bodhrán (an Irish drum) to adults who went on to win provincial championships, and I have taught the fiddle to young children.
Availability: My availability changes on a weekly basis. I will be undertaking a Masters Degree in Genomic Medicine and so I will be available every day in the evenings and every weekend for tutoring, with the odd hour if needed.
I will try my best to work around your schedule to make sure your child gets the attention they need.
Willing to travel: 50 miles
Experience: Over 600 hours experience on tutorhunt alone which was a mixture of online and in person teaching across the subjects listed above from KS3 to A-Levels. Additionally approximately 130 hours in person teaching at a tutoring centre in London for all ages, subjects and abilities. This does not include approximately 300 hours tutoring for a family friend.
2 years experience as a music tutor at an Irish Music Centre in Cambridge, where I tutored a wide range of ages and abilities. One on one tutoring to students in study groups in the run up to national exams.
