Information about Michael

Tutor in North West London. I graduated from the University of St Andrews with an MA(Hons) in Modern History. I achieved the the Dean`s List Award for academic excellenct for my final year examinations. I gained my PGCE from the UCL Institute of Education (Ranked number 1 for teacher training worldwide in 2014 and 2015). I subsequently qualified as a History teacher with an `outstanding` grade in my QTS phase.

My driving motivation as a teacher is a profound understanding of the power of historical knowledge in enabling students to participate in a meaningful way in a democratic society. It is my firm belief that success in examinations at the highest level is underpinned by a deep level of historical knowledge and historical literacy.

I am knowledgeable about all aspects of History. My areas of expertise are focused largely on modern British history. I am particularly interested in diplomatic history and I completed my dissertation on British foreign policy before the Great War. I am also experienced in French history before and during the revolution, in addition to early modern England, the history of the British Empire and post-war political culture in Europe from 1945-2005.

Additionally, I spent a year working with the University of St Andrews’ Institute for Iranian Studies and Foreign Office officials on Britain’s complex relationship with Iran.

Availability: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings and all day Saturday and Sunday.

Best in the world.
Explains everything very clearly, was better than my teacher at school. Had little time but taught me the whole course in a couple of hours considering that my teacher could not do it during a year. Best one I had. Really Recommend !
