Information about Asel
I`m a 23 year old 4th year Medical student, based in London and Chelmsford. As a student I am very flexible, available around the clock for any burning questions that my students may have.
I have a car and am willing to travel to my students.
I am a keen, enthusiastic and friendly personality who enjoys teaching and working with others of any age. I feel that my friendly personality and passion for teaching will enable students to get the maximum benefit out of what we do, and encourage them to ask any questions they may have.
So far I`ve tutored 2 biology students and 1 chemistry student to A*s at GCSE, as well as 2 further A level biology students.
I have been involved in teaching/tutoring throughout school/university (as below). Being a student in higher education, I believe I have a strong understanding of a range of subjects. I performed well at school, achieving 10 A* grades at GCSE/IGCSE (2 of which I took early) plus an A in `additional maths/pre-A level`, 5 As at AS level and A* (Biology) AA at A level. I was also a chemistry scholar and school prefect.
The subjects I`d be happy to teach include:
- Biology (KS3, I/GCSE, A level)
- Chemistry (KS3, I/GCSE)
- Geography (GCSE, AS)
Academics aside, I have several hobbies and interests, including sport (hockey, rugby, cricket - two of which I`ve carried on to play for my university) and music (guitar). Dancing is also a big hobby of mine (hip hop society at university), through which I`ve performed at and choreographed for various university shows. I also love travelling!
Availability: During term time, available on weekends and some weekdays (subject to university timetable).
Fully flexible during the holidays.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have taught/tutored throughout school and university via a range of programmes and societies respectively.
During school I`ve had experience in teaching through enrichment programmes, which involved teaching maths at a local primary school and secondly teaching biology to year 12 students through a `study buddy` scheme. As a school prefect, my general duties also included pastoral care of the younger years (7-9).
At University I`ve been part of a few academic societies which entail teaching those in younger years. These include:
-`Teddy Bear Hospital` which involves teaching primary school children about basic medicine (showing them how stethoscopes, first aid etc works)
-SAMDA (Student assisted Medical & Dental applications) which involves helping aspiring students with their applications to medical school
-CLASS - helping medical students with OSCE exam preparation (Physical examination/practical skills)
-Anatomy society (Anatomy/Histology teaching)

Early days but impressed so far. Polite, professional and seems to know his subject.
