Maria Arancha

I am a native Spanish speaker, born in Spain, but I have lived in the U.K. for 30 years.
I have a degree in English and Spanish and a Masters of Arts in Linguistics from Durham University.
I am a part-time Secondary school teacher (KS3 to KS5) and I also work for three major UK exam boards.

Availability: As I am now teaching part time, I have more availability; I can teach some days during the day and also most early evenings. I will work with the tuttees to find a mutually convenient time

Experience: I began my career teaching Spanish at University level (Durham University) for 4 years.
Subsequently I have taught Spanish in two secondary schools, from KS3 to A level for many years.
I am currently teaching the AQA specification but I am completely familiar with other specifications too.
I have also been working as a senior Alevel and GCSE examiner for two major UK exam boards (for the past 9 years).
During my teaching career I have also taught adults in adult education classes at Newcastle University and I have worked as a private tutor for students of different ages and for different purposes.
I love teaching and I always develop good working relationships with all my students. I am friendly and approachable and have a love for languages and language teaching and learning.
