Gurnam

Hi, my name is Gurnam and I teach in a state secondary school. I teach across the ability range from Year 7 to Year 13. Outside my teaching, I enjoy socialising with my friends and family, going to the cinema and online gaming.

Availability: As I am a practising teacher, during the week I am available from 5pm onwards. Weekends, I am flexible dependant upon requirements.

Experience: I graduated from Sheffield Hallam University gaining a BEng with Honours degree in Engineering with Business Studies. I further gained an MSc degree in Engineering Information Technology. I decided upon a route into teaching so I gained a PGCE Secondary in Technology.

As a teacher, I am committed to creating a fun, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all students. I believe that every child has the potential to succeed and that as educators, it`s my job to help them reach their full potential.

My teaching philosophy is centred around the idea that every student can succeed with the right support and guidance. I believe in creating a collaborative learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring their ideas. As a teacher, I encourage critical thinking and problem-solving, and I aim to provide a variety of learning opportunities to cater to different learning styles.

My experience extends over 28 years teaching in the secondary school sector. During this period I have taught Business Studies, Information Technology, Computing and Mathematics. Currently I teach Mathematics across the ability range from Year 7 to Year 11 having substantial experience with GCSE Mathematics at both Foundation and Higher level. I also teach Computing to Year 13 to A Level standard.

As a tutor I fully understand every child is an individual, my aim is to always tailor my tutoring to the individual.
