Information about George
I am married with two daughters. I am a very practical person and enjoy solving problems both mathematical and DIY related. I enjoy working on motorbikes and cars and fixing items that are repairable. I am a volunteer at a local repair café where items are brought in by members of the public and repaired free of charge.
Availability: I am hoping to start online tuition but also continue with some local tutees in the evening. I travel to the tutee and I am able to do some tuition during the daytime as well as in the evening.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I am a fully qualified maths teacher with 25 years experience having recently finished teaching full-time at a local college. I taught GCSE, A level, BTEC and some functional maths at levels 1 and 2. I also tutor regularly and I want to continue tutoring and helping students understand maths. I try to make maths as easy to understand as possible, and I have many satisfied tutees from my classes and private tutoring over the years. I started teaching maths after working as a mechanical engineer and completing a PCGE in maths at Bath university. Maths has always been my favourite subject and this is why I decided to teach it. I taught maths in a comprehensive school for 5 years and then did a combination of tutoring and work in a sixth form college through various agencies for 5 years. I worked as a supply teacher for a few months before getting a maths post at a local sixth form college. I worked in my most recent post for 14 years. I have taught pure maths, mechanics and statistics at A level, and I am able to tutor all A level maths syllabuses.
