Information about Rose

My name is Rose and I am from South West London. I have been working in a number of different primary schools in London over the past two years in a range of different year groups. I have always had high expectations for the children I work with as I understand the importance of having ambition from my own experience of school. I achieved ten GCSE’s, grade A*-B during secondary school and three A levels, grade A*-B. I studied Art history at the University of Nottingham, graduating with a 2:1. This stems from my passion and interest in art, which has allowed me to apply a creative delivery of the curriculum when teaching in primary schools. I constantly strive to adopt fun and engaging teaching methods to ensure children understand their learning as well as enjoy it. I believe that it is important for all children to have the opportunity to learn at their own pace and in a way that is tailored to suit their individual needs. All children learn differently and am confident that I have the ability to provide a high standard of teaching combined with fun, innovative activities to encourage them to naturally progress in a number of different subjects.

Availability: I am available from 7pm on wards on weekdays and all day on weekends.

Willing to travel: 8 miles

Experience: I have experience working as a teaching assistant in years 1 and 6 where I was required to work with lower attaining children on a regular basis to help build their knowledge and confidence across all subjects. During this time I also worked with children with special educational needs such as ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia and Global Delay, helping them to boost their attainment levels where possible. I am currently coming to the end of my teacher training year (PGCE) which has required me to teach years 4 and 2. I have been required to learn and study the most current education trends and research as a result of this. My school placements have consisted of academies, state and independent schools, therefore I have an in depth knowledge of how the national curriculum is applied in a number of different school settings and what is expected of the children in these different settings. My experience teaching full classes, holding intervention groups and privately tutoring has allowed me to help children progress effectively to the next year group and to achieve their best in standardised testing such as SATs and 11 plus. I have a deep understanding of the types of questions and topics that these tests require children to know and different ways to help children apply this knowledge effectively under timed conditions.
