Information about Emma

I am a qualified teacher and have taught in the Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Lower Key Stage 2. I love tutoring as it offers me the opportunity to support, encourage and challenge children 1:1 or in small groups so that they can achieve their potential and flourish at school. Children often benefit from one to one support, teaching and encouragement especially in areas of the curriculum they are finding more challenging. My favourite part of tutoring is being able to give children that time and support so that they can feel more confident in their lessons at school.

I am a patient and encouraging tutor and I aim to make learning an enjoyable and positive experience that challenges the child at the correct level for them to make progress in their learning.

I have taught across the curriculum in a range of age groups as well as teaching SEN children with a wide range of additional needs. I have also been subject leader for science, geography and history as well as leading a school`s Gifted and Talented scheme and mentoring programme.

Availability: I am currently unavailable due to moving house. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Willing to travel: 4 miles

Experience: I have a PGCE in Primary Education across the primary age range. I have taught in Lower Key Stage 2, the Early Years and Key Stage 1, where I achieved a high pass rate for the Phonics Screening Check in Year 1. I am passionate about learning and the importance of reading, writing and maths as well as the importance of enjoying education and the experience of learning. I have also taught children with a variety of SEN and I enjoy helping them find their best way to learn and to engage in the curriculum.
