I am a fully qualified secondary maths teacher with a passion for mathematics and teaching. I graduated from Newcastle University with a 2:1 in Mathematics and went on to do my PGCE (Teacher Training) with Newcastle University as well. I have a very friendly and patient approach with all my students and find that working on a one-to-one basis is much more effective than a classroom setting. It allows me to cater to the individual needs of every student, creating an engaging, effective and enjoyable learning environment. I have an enhanced DBS Check and have had safeguarding training to ensure a safe learning environment.

I am very competent at teaching the GCSE syllabus as my results have shown, and can cover all exam boards. I can also teach the iGCSE if required.

When teaching at a Secondary School during the Covid-19 Pandemic I became very familiar with distance learning online, and am very effective when using online tools such as interactive whiteboards and video calls. This allows me to create a personal, tailored and productive learning environment catering to each student’s needs which is just as effective for learning as face-to-face teaching. I am flexible and highly organised when it comes to tutoring, and will be able to respond out of hours via e-mail to both parent/guardian and student.

Availability: I am available nearly everyday at daytime hours and evening hours.

Experience: During my teacher training I worked with a variety of secondary school and sixth form students from year 7 to year 13. I can cover Foundation and Higher Tier GCSE Maths and tutor international iGCSE as well. I am very familiar with the new grade 9-1 syllabus and have used the AQA, Edexcel and OCR exam boards extensively, but will happily tutor all exam boards.

I have extensive experience teaching online lessons and am confident that I can provide a good learning experience with the use of technology online.
