Information about India
I am a very enthusiastic and energetic tutor as I have a real passion for my subjects, especially English, and a real desire for my students to gain the same appreciation for them that I have. I like to offer a mix of teaching at a broader spectrum, and then really unpacking the finer details. For example for A-level students I like to do intensive analysis of poetry and text (in a more sophisticated Oxbridge style) in order to improve overall essay writing. Aside from English academics, I have a real passion for music, theatre and performance, having spent the last two years being the lead singer of an Irish Folk Fusion band. I have a keen eye for current affairs and enjoy having intense debates about them, having been a competitive public speaker for 6 years and the captain of several debate teams.
Availability: Im flexible with my hours and can do pretty much any day of the week dependig on my plans. Im also willing to do later hours for international students if they desire them.
Willing to travel: 8 miles
Experience: I graduated from Oxford University with a 2.1 in BA Hons English Literature and Languages. As well as a passion for English, I also have extensive knowledge of Oxford Application processes and and willing to offer my help to those willing to build a stronger application. At A -Level I did Government and Politics (A), Geography (A), and an EPQ on Intertextuality (A*) as well as English (A*). At GSCE I achieved 7 A*s, 4 As and a B. I also speak German as a Home Language.
I have spent the last three years working alongside Teach First/Futures and the access team at Brasenose College, assisting with taster sessions for students from state schools in understanding the Oxford application process. I have also worked with my old secondary school in assisting students and offering peer mentoring.
