Eleanor

I graduated from Oxford University with BA Music (1st class) in 2017, and then achieved my MA in Music from the University of York in 2020 (with Distinction).

I spent a year working as a Graduate Assistant at a school in 2017-18, and since 2018 I have been tutoring privately alongside work as a professional musician. I have helped many pupils to grow their confidence in their subjects, and many of my pupils have succeeded beyond they expectations in examinations.

I believe that the student should always be at the centre of tuition, and as such no two of my sessions look exactly the same. I am experienced at preparing materials and adapting them to individual needs for each student. I am happy to set and mark work for between sessions, a good way to track progress, but otherwise we can gain a sense of progress through work done together in sessions. Confidence is key, and I am happy to tutor at a speed which suits each student so that they can solidify understanding at their own pace.

I am a happy and enthusiastic tutor, and I hope that my passion for and success in academics can act as an example for others.

Availability: Variable - I am currently working full-time at a university during the day so evenings and weekends are usually my available times at the moment.

Experience: I have been tutoring for three years now, predominantly in the fields of Music Theory and academic Music. Many of my pupils have achieved success in examinations and in the classroom.

I worked at a school as an assistant in the Music Department 2017-18. This gave me experience in teaching Music specifically to children from early years to 19, with particular emphasis on GCSE and A Level tutoring in all components of the course.

I have Grade 8 in Voice, Violin, Clarinet and Piano. I am well-versed in ABRSM having taken all of the aforementioned exams!
