I have over fifteen years of teaching History in the independent sector and have taught all the major exam board specifications at both GCSE and A Level. I have successfully assisted large numbers of students in their university applications, assisting those with Oxbridge aspirations and also more broadly as a Sixth Form tutor. I have an up to date and detailed knowledge of what it is exactly that the exam boards are looking for in their assessments and am happy to guide students in relation to a wide range of topics.

Experience: I am an experienced History teacher who has taught in numerous independent schools in and around Manchester over the past fifteen years. I have taught the full range of both GCSE and A Level options, including IGCSE and Pre-U specifications, and have also examined for all of the major exam boards at some point. I have successfully tutored students in the past at both GCSE and A Level but am also more than happy to assist with younger children should that be required. I have consistently achieved excellent results with individual students and whole classes. I have been both a Head of History and Head of Politics at a leading independent school in the area.

The key thing for successful tutoring is an up to date and effective understanding of what it is that exam boards are looking for and that can only ever truly be achieved by those who are in the classroom delivering content to students on a daily basis, which is what I do. I work with students on a daily basis to improve their understanding and technique, this is not a part time occupation or something which can be done on the side, nor is it something which a simple degree level qualification adequately prepares you for. You might find academics out there offering their services or people seeking to impress with their degree but their lack of classroom and exam board experience often leads to them providing flawed information which misses the point of what exam boards are looking for. That isn`t me.
