Information about Demetrios
I am a practicing Lead Teacher of Physics at a Sixth Form College in Kensington, with a background in Mechanical Engineering. My mission is to help students move past the feeling of being "overwhelmed" by Science and transition into confident, independent learners.
I specialise in GCSE Physics and Chemistry, as well as A-Level Physics. Because I work within the school system daily, I have a deep understanding of what exam boards (AQA and OCR) require for top marks. I don`t believe in "spoon-feeding" answers; instead, I use clear analogies to ensure students truly grasp the "why" behind complex concepts.
Every student has unique "knowledge gaps." My role is to diagnose those gaps, rebuild the student`s foundational understanding, and sharpen their exam technique so they can achieve their full potential.
Willing to travel: 2 miles
Experience: In my current role as Lead Teacher of Physics, I am responsible for curriculum delivery and student progress at the KS5 (A-Level) level. I have over 3 years of classroom experience teaching KS3, KS4, and KS5 across GCSE, A-Level and BTEC specifications. This experience means I am intimately familiar with the common misconceptions students face and how to correct them effectively.
My teaching is underpinned by a Degree in Mechanical Engineering. This allows me to bring a practical, "real-world" application to Physics and Chemistry, making abstract topics more tangible and easier to remember.
