I graduated from the University of Edinburgh this year with an MA in Middle Eastern Studies. I currently run a coffee stand next to the university main campus, where I work on weekdays. I have Turkish and German family, so can speak both languages.

Experience: During my last few years of high school I volunteered at my local Girl Guiding association once a week. I also volunteered a number of times as a classroom assistant at my local primary school, where I developed good relations with the staff and pupils. In my final year of high school I travelled to Malawi with fellow classmates where we helped to renovate a local primary school with the charity Classrooms for Malawi. After embarking on a trip to Fiji with the program Travel Teacher, I was awarded a Level 3 YMCA Accredited Certificate in Teacher Training by spending two weeks there as a classroom assistant in a local village primary school. During my time there and as part of my teacher training I led lessons in maths, English and P.E., and created my own lesson plan, which I then carried out to a class of 6-7 year olds. In my final year of university I also volunteered at STREET, a weekly tutoring scheme where I helped Syrian teenage refugees with their English skills and homework for their other school subjects.
