Hi,

I am a native French speaker and a qualified teacher in Modern Languages (French and Spanish) from Marjon University with 2 years of teaching in a local secondary school. I have also taught Business Studies as well as Travel & Tourism.

I come from Quebec in Canada, and I have been living in England for on and off 13 years.

I really enjoy tutoring as I enjoy teaching one on one and using effective learning methods that are often not possible in a classroom of 25-30 children. I enjoy tutoring children, young adults as well as adults and find having a variety of students very interesting.

I decided to move to tutoring whilst being on maternity leave with my second child. This has allowed me to work and keep in touch with the teaching profession that I love but it also given me time at home raising my own children which is great.

I have trained as a secondary school teacher and have therefore good knowledge of KS3 and A level requirements, whether the school is following AQA, Edexcel or OCR.
However I am more than happy to teach to primary children as well and would adapt my teaching strategies to reflect the KS2 curriculum.

Finally if you are an adult who wants to learn French with the possibility of going to live in a French speaking country, I would be excited to create a bespoke scheme of work built around the area that you are considering, the activities that you are interested in and the key vocabulary that would really be useful on a daily basis. I am also a believer in learning through fun and real situations so perhaps meeting in town to practice speaking French would work well with you.
