Experience: I can`t think of any other job that I could enjoy more than teaching! Since qualifying as a teacher in 2011 I have taught across the education spectrum: Adult Education, 16 - 18, KS3 and KS4, and children with SEN. I have supported KS1 and 2 children with specific learning difficulties and have taught children with medical, behavioural and emotional difficulties in a range of different environments.

The part of my job I enjoy most of all is working one to one with children or adults who really need some extra help and support. Building the confidence of a learner, adult or child, and seeing them begin to really grasp ideas they once found difficult and to move confidently forward is probably one of the most satisfying things you can do as a teacher.

I teach and tutor students sitting their GCSEs in English Language and Literature with: AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC, CIE (Cambridge iGCSE), and am therefore fully familiar with and experienced in working with all GCSE English syllabuses.

Additionally, I have recent experience of successfully tutoring adult student learners towards the English Equivalency Test (Functional Skills)

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring is very learner centered. Through discussion with parents and the child (or adult learner), it becomes clear which style of learning will be most effective and enjoyable. I am flexible in my approach to learning styles and my aim is to be as creative, imaginative and stimulating as possible whilst ensuring the learning outcome is successfully achieved.

I enjoy sourcing and producing high quality differentiated resources to support each tutees learning experience and style.

My tutees are also offered full and unlimited learning support by email outside the tuition session. My fee reflects my commitment to this additional support. All my students are encouraged to take advantage of this service.

I have a proven record of excellent results, with the all of my year 11 `one-to-one` students achieving C (Level 5) and above grades at GCSE. A high number of my students achieve A and A* grades (Levels 8 & 9).

I am Enhanced DBS checked (Formerly known as CRB).
To comply with safeguarding guidance, all communications with my tutees are copied to parents.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have and I`ll reply as promptly as possible.
