Helen

I am an experienced English Language and Literature teacher based in Wimborne. I am committed to helping young people reach their potential and am an enthusiastic practitioner. Having taught from Year 8 upwards, I am familiar with the skills students need in order to be successful in exams and I specialise in GCSE preparation for both language and literature. In addition I teach A level English, having done so for 18 years. Furthermore I have experience of preparing students for university applications and personal statement writing.

Availability: I am available most evenings and Saturday if necessary.

Willing to travel: 15 miles

Experience: My experience of all areas of the curriculum includes Shakespeare, 19th century novels such as A Christmas Carol and The Sign of the Four and 20th century texts such as An Inspector Calls. I am well versed in the poetry texts at GCSE and have completed training with exam boards to understand the demands of the specifications. At A level I have taught a range of texts and my students achieve high grades consistently in their exams and coursework.
