Nick

Hi! I`m Dr Nick , an Oxford-educated teacher and lecturer, currently teaching GCSE English in the FE sector and undergraduates with the Open University. I offer private tuition in English from GCSE to degree and postgraduate level, and French and German at GCSE.

I have been a private tutor since 2013 and have had some very good results. I love helping struggling learners build their confidence, and giving able learners that extra boost. An A-level English student obtained an A* after performing before at C, and I`ve been delighted to help a struggling GCSE English student predicted a D to get the C they really needed.

I`m an enthusiastic and supportive tutor. I`ll motivate you with lively teaching, and push you to achieve your best, in a friendly way. You will never feel embarrassed to say you don`t know something - it`s my job to help fill in those gaps. Sessions are enjoyable, with an emphasis on goals and results, and not too formal, to make the learning more relaxed.

I still publish academic work and have published fiction. Literature, language and learning is my passion and I would like to enthuse you with it!

I look forward to hearing from you!

Availability: I`m available for online sessions Mon-Thurs 5-7pm. Other times may also be possible. I prefer remote teaching, which I can do using Google Meet, Zoom and Teams.

Willing to travel: 5 miles
