Nick

Hi! I`m Nick, an Oxford-educated teacher and lecturer, currently teaching GCSE English in the FE sector and undergraduates at university. I have also recently worked as an English teacher at a local independent school. I offer private tuition in English from GCSE to degree level, and French and German at GCSE.

I have been a private tutor since 2013 and have had some very good results. An A-level English student obtained an A* after performing before at C, and I`ve been delighted to help a struggling GCSE English student predicted a D to get the C they really needed. My recent school results were also great.

I`m an enthusiastic and supportive tutor. I`ll motivate you with lively teaching, and push you to achieve your best, in a friendly way. You will never feel embarrassed to say you don`t know something - it`s my job to help fill in those gaps. Sessions are enjoyable, with an emphasis on goals and results, and not too formal, to make the learning more relaxed.

Availability: At the moment, I`m free to teach Tuesday after 3pm, Thurs after 6 and Fridays from midday to 7pm approximately. Other times may also be possible. I prefer remote teaching, which I can do using Zoom, Teams or Skype.

Experience: I have taught many private students over the past few years. I have tutored several students privately for Oxbridge preparation, or university extra tuition. I have taught KS4 GCSE in schools.

I have experience with AQA, OCR and other syllabuses, and for A-level English Literature have taught Gothic and Pastoral, and many texts.
