Information about Robert
Hi! My name is Rob and I`m a qualified teacher looking for tutees. I`m currently a PhD student in Philosophy at the University of Liverpool, with particular interests in Merleau-Ponty, Heidegger and Feminist Philosophy. I received my MA from the University of Liverpool in 2014 and have been teaching Philosophy, Religious Studies and Critical Thinking at A-Level over the past 9 years. I have a great deal of 1-2-1 tutoring experience and my key strengths are in sharpening focus (all important for essays and exams!), helping to break down difficult material clearly, and helping with written technique (my A* grades have been significantly higher than national benchmarks since they were introduced). I examine A-Level and IB Philosophy, which helps!
Availability: All day, most days
Willing to travel: 20 miles
Experience: I have taught A-Level in one guise of another for the past nine years, recently as Head of Philosophy in a very large Sixth Form College. I have a particular flair for helping students to gain A * grades and to help students who are struggling with the subject to not only pass, but achieve grades they are very happy with. I examine for AQA Philosophy and IB Philosophy. This experience provides a vital contribution to the focus I can provide. I have also taught A-Level Critical Thinking, Religious Studies and General Studies with great success.
