I worked in a key stage 2 classroom for almost 20 yeas but have now stepped away and am trying to educate children my way - through exciting, enjoyable and hopefully inspiring sessions! I try and use my full range of experience to do just that and children and parents who I have worked with say that they can see exactly what I am trying to do.

I am a keen runner - I can be found at parkrun every Saturday morning and volunteering most Sunday mornings at Junior parkrun. Experience: I have been teaching primary since 2005 and have taught in a large variety of different schools from inner-city to little village. I have taught across key stage 2 and am now an established tutor in my local area since I left the classroom in 2023.

I like to find out what interests the child and then tap into that as a way of learning. Once the interests have been found and the resources catered to them then the learning can begin and it will be as much fun as possible.

Maths would be quick fire recall questions to begin with to ensure that the student has remembered things taught previously and then we would move on to the topic for the week.

For English, I tap into children`s interests and then help them to produce pieces of writing based on those. I have used Pokemon, Marvel, Doctor Who and many more as a stimulus and all have worked brilliantly.
