Information about Marioly
I am from Bolivia in the heart of South America where I worked as an architect. When I arrived in the UK and studied interior designer, I also began working as a private Spanish tutor and I have more recently formalised this with a teaching diploma from Cervantes, the Spanish Institute. That’s 17 years ago and I love teaching as much today as when I started. It is hugely satisfying to see pupils making progress and also for those sitting exams to see them pass their exams with good grades.

Experience: I am qualified with a teaching diploma from the Spanish Institute Cervantes (DADIC-A: Diploma de Acreditación Docente del Instituto Cervantes, nivel Autónomo). I have been teaching Secondary and Adult students since 2007 from beginner, intermediate to advanced level. I adapt my approach depending on the age, ability and interests of the student as well as whether they are doing it for pleasure or for exams. My experience includes helping students to prepare for GCSEs and helping adult students who wish to communicate effectively and confidently on holidays or business trips in Spain or any other Spanish speaking countries.
I provide a range of materials on grammar, vocabulary and exercises to complete.
Practice in speaking is a very important part of my classes - particularly for school pupils there is little time for this at school. With lots of practice I build the students confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing.

I had Marioly as a tutor for 2–3 months before a trip to Central America to learn the basics. She was incredibly patient, encouraging, and always went the extra mile, investing lots of time into our lessons and making sure I understood everything. I was starting from 0 and she helped build my confidence and enjoyment in learning Spanish. Her lessons were well structured, and she put a lot of care into preparing materials. I’d recommend getting the study books she uses at the very start, you can usually find them cheaply second-hand. I only did this about a month in and was printing off the papers she sent me, which became a bit overwhelming and a faff to manage. At times, the lessons and content felt a bit school-like, but I think that could be me as I haven`t learnt a language since then. When I shared, Marioly adapted lessons around any specific goals and was very keen to give me a well-rounded learning experience in the time we had. I would 100% recommend Marioly as a tutor to anyone. She was fantastic.
