In 2018 I completed my PGCE at the Institute of Education, London and have been privately tutoring students for the past five years aged from six years (Key Stage 1 English) up to eighteen years of age (English Language A-Level) to supplement my income whilst in study. Prior to undertaking a PGCE I graduated in 2017 with a Masters Degree with Merit from Brunel University in Creative Writing.

After graduating from the University of Brighton in 2011 with an Upper Second Class Bachelor’s Degree in English and Media I worked for five years in a range of marketing and copywriting related roles, liaising with clients from various agencies in the hospitality and music industries.

Whilst working in the creative industries I wrote music reviews and web articles which were published weekly on online platforms. Whilst I studied for my undergraduate degree I was also involved in the collaborative anthology of writings about the history of the city of Brighton which was published in 2012 and available through Queenspark Books, entitled: Brighton: The Graphic Novel.

English is my passion and I have spent my working life immersing myself in the written word in professional and academic pursuit. I have wanted to share my passion and help others to develop their skills in the English language since I can remember. I feel that due to my academic achievements and experience in teaching literacy and ESOL in a range of contexts and levels I have demonstrated why I am the perfect tutor for you.

Availability: Weekdays 10am - 2pm.
Evenings 4pm - 8pm
Weekends - various

Willing to travel: 15 miles

Experience: I have five years of experience in tutoring and whilst I was a trainee teacher I was working in colleges around Hertfordshire (North Hertfordshire College) and London (Camden Working Men’s College and Hackney Community College). In these placements I worked with large groups of literacy and ESOL learners from diverse backgrounds at a range of ability levels. I now run my own small business operation where I travel to students` homes around Herts, Beds and Essex alongside providing online tutoring support.
