My name is Phil and I’m a 24 year-old from Derbyshire. I’m a native British English speaker and have been learning languages for 9 years and counting! I currently speak Spanish, German and Catalan and I’m learning Beginner’s French.

I have a First-Class BA Honours degree from Newcastle University in Modern Languages (Spanish and German), Translation and Interpreting. Right now, I`m studying to obtain my first TEFL qualification.

In my spare time, I like to be outdoors, cycling, walking and runnning. I also enjoy cooking, reading, listening to and playing music.

Availability: My availability is flexible during the week and on evenings.

Experience: - I have recently set up my own online tutoring business and during my time at university, I planned and prepared lessons for a class of 13 year 7 students (aged 11) and delivered these bi-weekly online.
- In addition, I spent a year leading groups of school children between the ages of 10-18 in activities to promote their physical, social, emotional and spiritual growth at the Briars Youth Retreat Centre in the Nottingham Diocese.

I have also:
- Developed interpersonal and communication skills in a Special Education School, hospital and by doing social work in Spain.
- Worked one-on-one with young people with Special Educational Needs, responsible for their well-being and adapting to their specific needs when on days out.

My previous experience teaching and working with young people has helped me refine my ability to be supportive and tailor lessons to the individual’s needs. In addition, my voluntary work in both England and Spain has developed my passion for helping others.
