I have a degree in English and Creative and Professional Writing which saw me study English Language, English Literature and various forms of writing including academic writing.

I have a real passion for reading and literature but understand that others may not. My enthusiasm for the subject with my flexibility to tailor tuition sessions to the individual can instil confidence and improve grades!

Experience: The majority of my experience as a tutor has been to support GCSE students preparing for their exams. I have several approaches to the English language exams that I can share with my students depending on their abilities and preference. Creative writing forms a large part of the language exam and I also have many quick and interesting games and resources to build the confidence and skills of students. I have helped students with all of the most popular AQA literature texts (Power and Conflict poetry, A Christmas Carol, An Inspector Calls, Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth plus many more!).

I also support students in KS3 and primary school with one-to-one tuition, mainly students who are not confident with English and are not meeting their school`s expected grades. It can be extremely beneficial to start tuition early and get students achieving and surpassing their expected grades.

I help students from KS3 and GCSE to University to improve their essay writing in any subject by discussing the writing style and addressing any misconceptions about academic writing. A couple of sessions can vastly improve academic performance.

Through tutoring, I have built up a vast amount of resources and information to further support students.
