Experience: I have worked as an English teacher in secondary schools for over 11 years. I have taught the majority of the literature texts for GCSE and I am familiar with the poetry anthologies used by the various exam boards. I regularly work with AQA, Eduqas and IGCSE exam boards.
Working as a private tutor for over eight years has been a great experience; I am always delighted when students are able to develop their confidence and improve their grades.
English is a subject that requires the ability to explore and expand on personal responses in both language and literature exams; students should feel involved and confident in the tutoring sessions.
I often work on exam skills practice as I believe this to be the most beneficial approach for students in KS4. I also work with younger students in KS3 to support them with schoolwork and to build confidence and enjoyment.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is seeing students develop their confidence and improve their grades.

I would not hesitate in recommending Michelle. Michelle is very professional and plans the sessions well. She has made a huge difference in a short time with my son who is in Y11. This is a subject that he struggles with but he finds Michelle very approachable and is gaining confidence with her invaluable support.
