I am a freelance musician and teacher currently studying with a scholarship for an MA at the Royal Academy of Music. In Summer 2020, I received a First Class BMus Hons Degree there. I have been lucky to study with many world-class musicians and educators, such as Jonathan Kelly, Chris Cowie, Celia Nicklin and Diethelm Jonas to name a few. In the academic year 2018-19, I spent a year in Germany at the Musikhochschule Lübeck with Professor Diethelm Jonas as part of the Erasmus programme. I have played with numerous orchestras such as English Arts Orchestra, Regency Sinfonia and Academy Symphony and Chamber Orchestras. Whilst still at school, I played with the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain for two years, which included performances at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms, Festival Hall and the Barbican Centre with conductors such as Sir Mark Elder and John Wilson.

I have experience of teaching both oboe and piano privately to students of all ages and abilities. As well as my individual tuition, I have worked for a number of years with the National Children`s Orchestra and the Benedetti Foundation, and have coached ensembles on the English Camerata summer courses. I have also undertaken some outreach projects in schools. I am currently completing the LRAM Teaching Diploma.
I find teaching extremely rewarding and believe that in order to keep the pupil engaged and therefore make the most progress, lessons should be fun yet challenging. I encourage all my students to engage with ensemble playing and feel that students learn best when technical aspects are combined with learning lots of repertoire. I am always open to suggestions from my students and tailor my lessons to the individual pupil in order to set realistic goals for them.
