Information about Jemma
I am an experienced Psychology teacher for which I am also Subject leader. I have over ten years experience of teaching both AS and A-level Psychology as well as GCSE Psychology to a range of students with varying abilities. I have a passion for my subject and have previous experience, before teaching, of working in the field of Psychology in clinical settings. Psychology is a subject that is always advancing and I make it my priority to keep up to date with recent research and changes to specifications. I pride my self on the resources I produce to make the subject engaging and accessible to a range of learner needs.
As a tutor I like to focus on exam technique, build on your strengths and work on any content within Psychology that you feel less confident with. Recent changes to the new A-level specification in 2015 has meant that Psychology now has a much higher mathematical content and these are skills that are essential for the exam. I am able to make this a lot less daunting for students to give them confidence to carry out the relevant maths in their exams. I also focus on providing you with skills to help you structure your revision more effectively and apply these to other subjects you may be studying.
Availability: Weekdays after 4.30pm

My daughter found Jemma really easy to get on with and enjoyed their weekly sessions. In addition to boosting my daughter`s confidence and re-engaging her with the subject, Jemma gave specific guidance regarding exam technique which really helped - this resulted in raising my daughter`s grade up from a predicted D grade to a B! From a parent`s point of view, Jemma was always punctual, polite and professional and she really understood and connected with my daughter straight away. My daughter has also commented on how easy Jemma was to get on with and that she always felt comfortable asking questions - something she had never felt ok with at college. We cannot recommend Jemma enough - Thanks Jemma, you are amazing!

Jemma tutored our daughter for approx 8 months before her psychology A level. Very professional and good at keeping in contact. Our daughter related well to her and found the tuition very helpful. Our daughter improved by at least a grade between her AS and A level results which we have just received. We would highly recommend Jemma

I am giving this feedback after three sessions my daughter has had with Jemma for 2nd year psychology A level. Obviously the proof will be in the pudding, which we will only know next year. However to date Jemma has been all that we could have hoped for. My daughter has related very well with Jemma and enjoys the tuition. My daughter says that Jemma understands the problems she has and is helping to improve her exam technique. Once we had set up the date and time there have been no problems with changed appointments or unavailability.
