Information about Marc
I am a producer/engineer and have worked with many bands and artists of all types.
I have also just started studying for my Masters in Music Production at Leeds Beckett University.
I have been using Cubase since the late 1990`s and have engineered and produced many bands and artists using Cubase, some to critical acclaim, some charting in different parts of the world, most have ened BBC radio play and a lot have gone onto vinyl and the occasional movie soundtrack.
Availability: Mondays and Tuesdays and most evenings.
Willing to travel: 30 miles
Experience: I am a record producer/engineer with mastering skills and many credits under my belt. I have worked in many studios around the UK. Mastering I have worked on includes tracks by Oasis, Primal Scream and also for Chris Braide (JLS and The Saturdays).
Early years (1980s) I spent doing live sound, working with Eric Bell (Thin Lizzy), The Vibrators, Wishbone Ash, Eddy and the Hotrods and many more. Then I got into studio work. I have racked up over 30 years` experience of studio work, starting out with the old school approach (tape) and slowly moving into the digital domain mid to late `90s.
My work has been recognised by and features on recordproduction and I am a key contributor to an academic text authored by a colleague Lecturer in Music Production at Leeds Beckett University.
I started with Cubase during the late 90s and have used it as my main production tool, although studio work has also required me to become competent with use of Logic and ProTools, as these are more native to most studios that I have worked in.
As a Producer, I am known for my ability to work with bands and artists to get the best out of them and to help them realise their creative dreams. My approach is methodical, I think systemically whilst having an eye for detail, I am able to put people at ease and keep the projects fun but focussed so that people get the best use out of my time and their`s.
I have a basic understanding of electronics and helped upcycle a Neve console in Elevator Studios, Liverpool in July 2017.
I must have worked with hundreds of bands and artists of all genres over the past 30 years. I am a musician myself and have written and released (to good reviews) a lot of material, as well as producing other people and helping to secure many radio plays.
I want to help people to learn the equipment so well that it does not get in the way of their creative process - transparency is essential for better creative flow.

Marc is an extremely knowledgeable professional who has extensive experience in his field. As an expert using Cubase, Marc has been extremely flexible and adapted my learning to my knowledge gaps, making the sessions bespoke. Marc`s music industry career makes him able to offer advice and support in further areas beyond the Cubase sessions; overall very much recommended, Marc will help you with exactly what you need help with.
Marc is super nice guy, who is a also a helpful problem-solver with a wide and deep knowledge of Cubase. Marc gave me some great ideas and tips that are already helping me sound better! Especially helpful were his thoughts on programming drums to get a more human feel. I recommend Marc without hesitation.
