NOW TAKING ON NEW STUDENTS FOR SEPTEMBER.

I have 10 years teaching experience, teaching Maths and Business at KS3 and GCSE. I gave up full time teaching to look after my little boy and for the past six years I have been working as a Maths Tutor. I have a lot of experience tutoring pupils for the new Maths 9-1 GCSE exams, as well as tutoring KS3 pupils. I believe that Maths skills are a fundamental skill not only in Maths lessons but in other school subjects and within everyday life. I think that it is important that the fear of Maths is removed and that pupils understand the real life uses of the Maths skills they are learning. I am also an examiner for Pearson Edexcel and OCR.

I believe lessons should be both educational and enjoyable. I will tailor my teaching to meet your child`s needs and will use a variety of teaching techniques and activities to engage and facilitate their learning style. I will adjust my teaching to meet your child`s individual goals and adapt my resources to meet their needs.

I am friendly and approachable and will do my best to develop your child`s confidence. When teaching I like to break down Maths concepts into small, simple steps to make the learning as easy as possible. I will provide revision materials and am happy to provide extra work to be completed outside of the tutor session.

When working with GCSE pupils I like to spend time preparing for their exams by developing exam and revision techniques and working through past papers.
