Information about Savannah

Hi there! My name is Savannah and I`m a recent graduate of English and European Law at Queen Mary, University of London. I love to read in my spare time and I am passionate about English and Spanish. I believe that I have the knowledge and experience to bring my classes to life and really engage with the student in a way that will not only enable them to succeed with their studies, but also to develop a genuine love for the subject.

What to expect from a tutorial with me:

Patience, encouragement and lively conversations about literature and Spanish/Hispanic culture - I look forward to working with you soon!

Availability: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, 9am-5pm

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: Having tutored English for the last nine years at all levels up to and including GCSE, both privately and with a tutorial college, I have much experience with the course and know how to help students get the most out of the subject. I really believe in encouraging students to develop at their own pace: not only has this helped all my students to achieve the results they want, but they have also been left with a lasting interest in literature. As I like to tell my students - "education is a marathon, not a sprint."

I am also a keen linguist and in addition to having previously tutored GCSE Spanish, I have studied it to IB Level where I achieved top marks, and I have spent time in Madrid studying Law in Spanish, where I was marked "Sobresaliente" (Outstanding) on multiple law exams. This means that I can bring a unique approach to the student`s Spanish studies, tailoring our classes to meet their particular needs, whilst also pushing them beyond the syllabus to dive into literature, film and the Spanish culture. I believe this is the best way to cultivate a genuine love for the language that will stay with them long after they have taken their exams.
