After teaching professionally for 25 years I took the step of becoming a private languages tutor eight years ago. I live in central Gosforth in Newcastle and enjoy creative activities such as decorating, knitting, and also compiling puzzles and games. I love to read, particularly European crime and historical fiction, as well as historical non-fiction. When finances allow, I like travelling within Europe and enjoying a few drinks out or trips to the cinema.

Availability: I live in the Gosforth area so am ideally situated for any clients in that area. I have no transport of my own but am willing to walk within reason or, alternatively, clients can come to my home in central Gosforth.
I am also available for online tutoring, currently via Microsoft Teams.
I am flexible with regards to days and hours.

Experience: I worked as a qualified teacher of German and French for 24 years, working mainly in state secondary schools within the north east, but I have also had some experience working in the primary sector and teaching EFL at home and in Spain. I hold a BA Joint Honours degree in German and French (2:1), a DELE Intermedio in Spanish (‘A’ Level equivalent) and a Cert TEFL qualification (Grade ‘A’).

I have now been tutoring for eight years. Recent tutoring experience has included French, German and Spanish for GCSE and Key stage 3, adult tuition in all three languages, and French and German for AS level.
